Žrec was founded in Summer 2004 in small town of Vysočina, highlands in the south-west of Moravia (CZE). Since the beginning Žrec tended to the waters of pagan metal. With albums Žertva (2008) and Paměti (2012) Žrec fullfill their vision of metal with folklore influences. Shortly after the releasing EP Klíč k pokladům (2017) the band split up. Then, the main part of line up founded band The Book.
